Employment at the nation's hospitals rose 0.03% in February to a seasonally adjusted 4,703,400 people, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. That's 1,300 more people than in January and 32,700 more than a year ago. Without the seasonal adjustment, which removes the effect of fluctuations due to seasonal events, hospitals employed 4,692,500 people in February, 3,500 fewer than in January but 32,900 more than a year ago. The nation's overall unemployment rate was unchanged in February at 9.7%.
