The Department of Health and Human Services yesterday awarded states $100 million in grants to test child health quality measures and implement health information technologies for children enrolled in Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program. Funded by the Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009, the five-year grants will support projects in 18 states, including two states that plan to develop an electronic health record for children.
