The Department of Health and Human Services today awarded $386 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grants to facilitate health information exchange at the state level, and $375 million for regional extension centers to help physicians and hospitals implement health IT. In addition, the Department of Labor awarded $225 million in ARRA grants to train 15,000 people for careers in health care, IT and other high-growth fields. For more information, see the news release.
