Guide seeks to help employers implement parity law
January 06, 2010

The Partnership for Workplace Mental Health has issued a guide to help employers implement the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008. The law requires larger employers that offer mental health/addiction coverage to do so on a par with their medical/surgical benefits. While the federal government has yet to issue regulatory guidance, the document advises employers to examine their benefit plans to determine what adjustments may be needed to meet the law and improve health care access, quality and value.
